One of my favourite things to do in LA is was to sit on the balcony of our holiday rental and enjoy the view of the Hollywood Hills. The view boasted a 360 view of the Hills and the Hollywood sign. In this post, I’ll give you a glimpse of life in the Hollywood Hills and will tell you where we drove to find the best view of the Hollywood sign. Let me know if you have any other vantage points to suggest!
The Sounds of the Hollywood Hills
I believe the Hollywood Hills is the most peaceful and beautiful part of LA. As you weave through crooked roads, past Californian-style mansions and super star homes, we felt a sense of excitement. We spotted the white castle like mansion of Moby and the grafiti-filled mansion of Chris Brown. We drove through roads where the girls of the reality-tv series “The Hills” would have driven through many times. I would have been more star struck to see Lauren Conrad (LC) to be perfectly honest! Hello everyone! In my previous blog, I gave you a glimpse of the Golden Gate Bridge. In this post, I hope to share with you my favourite moments in San Francisco.

Have you seen this beautiful red, rust-coloured bridge before? Can you see why it is possibly the most photographed bridge in the world? You only need to take one look to realise why millions of people flock to take a photo with, around, under and over the Golden Gate Bridge.

The Ghetty Center is the top thing to do in Los Angeles, California, according to Trip Advisor. If you love all types of art and ornate gardens, then this is the place for you.
Rick and I turned up bright and early to avoid traffic and managed to see the Ghetty Centre before it became packed with tourists. The Ghetty Centre is made up of a number of sections including modern art, European art, temporary exhibitions and sculptures. There are art works from all over the world, giving you a glimpse of the past and the present. Continue reading “The Ghetty Centre: is it worth going?”
Hello everyone! One of the questions that we asked before booking our California trip was:
“Is the LA to San Francisco drive on the Pacific Coast Highway worth it?”
I am here to tell you that it is! If you’ve been reading my previous posts, we traveled from LA to Santa Barbara to Monterey before heading to San Francisco. Continue reading “LA to San Francisco Pacific Coast Highway Drive – why it’s worth it!”
Hi there! If you read my previous post, we had just spent the day riding a fun-cycle in Santa Barbara and were not sure whether we would make it to Cambria before the hotel front desk closed. For those who are wondering, we did! We arrived 10 minutes before check-in and were also guided towards a nearby restaurant just before it closed.
Even though it was summer in Cambria, we had to wear coats at night. If you decide to stop by Cambria during the Pacific Highway LA to San francisco Drive, then I strongly suggest that you bring some warm clothing! I had arrived wearing flip-flops and a summer dress but luckily had my coat in the car. Continue reading “Where to spot Squirrels and Elephant Seals in Cambria”
Hello everyone! I hope that you are enjoying my posts about LA. After LA, Rick and I decided to do the LA to Santa Monica Scenic Drive along California State Route 1, which is considered one of the best scenic drives in the world.
Our first stop was Santa Barbara. This is where we rented fun-cycles as a way to view the long strip of beach. Rick and I had never driven a fun-cycle, nor have we ever seen one in our lives, but we thought “how hard can it be right?”. Continue reading “I drove a fun-cycle down Santa Barbara Beach”
What can be better than an In-N-Out burger? A french dipped meat sandwich from the one and only Philippe the Original. Philippe the Original has been around for over 100 years making delicious French Dipped Sandwiches, together with all american dishes such as macaroni salad, potato salad and home-made lemonade!
My inspiration for this post is from the TV Series “Man v Food”, where he attempted to try the french dipped sandwiches. When in LA, we did as the LA folk do. We drove to downtown LA to experience the action ourselves. Continue reading “Philippe the Original Review: Follow the Footsteps of Man v Food”
I have a fascination with California, yes I do! As a child, I would wake up early every Saturday morning to watch California dreams and wonder whether I would ever get the chance to go to this place that seemed to boast continuous sunshine and positively perky people. Of course that was just a children’s TV show, but I do think that the real California life style is much better than the TV show ever depicted.
